Abstract

The Cube One framework posits that organizational performance results from three sets of practices, namely practices that are enterprise-directed, customerdirected, and employee-directed. To date, most of the research and writing about the Cube One framework has examined survey data and in-depth case studies.  The present research examines validity evidence using Fortune’s Most Admired Company attribute ratings to measure practices and relative market capitalization data to assess organizational performance. On an across-industry basis, significant associations were found examining concurrent data (with Large and Medium effect sizes). Examining longitudinal panel data, differential cross-lagged correlations approached significance on an across-company basis.
